How to attend a conference in COVID times.

Hello, thank you for stepping by!
Wonderland Miami sounds fascinating, don’t you think?
Well, to me it felt like that as well. So what could this be?
It was actually the largest Psychedelic Medicine Business Conference in Florida from the 8th through the 9th of November 2021.
I was the lucky one being invited to talk!
So I started planning the whole trip! Booking the flights from Berlin via Frankfurt am Main to Miami with enough time after the conference to explore Florida and get some sun. When it was clear that I was not allowed to travel to the US because of Covid restrictions before the 8th of November (the day the conference starts) I tried to find another way to be there in time. From Berlin over Amsterdam to Mexico and from there to Miami? Or can I make it from Paris to French Guadeloupe from where I could fly in the morning on the 8th just several hours to Miami? Toronto or Quebec is close too, but then I would have to stay in quarantine for 14 days in Canada before I can fly to the US, hmmmm.
BUT! Life had other plans.
Thanks to COVID I was not able to attend the conference in person in the end. Luckily they found a way to include me via ZOOM.
The panel discussion about 'Psychedelics And The Current Medical Model' was held by luminary women in the field like Gigi Kuo, Kemie Sae Koo, Kimberly Juroviesky and Lynn Marie Morski and moderated by Olivia Mannix. The debate circled around one important question: ‘How psychedelic medicines, which become more and more mainstream as new therapies, fit into our current medical paradigm. I had the pleasure sharing insights about my clinical knowledge and my approach of combining Ketamine Therapy with Hypnotherapy and Ketamine Assisted Hypnotherapy (KAH). We talked about effect and impact for the people involved, therapists as well as patients
In the end I was very happy to join online, even though it didn’t feel the same!
Nature is close to my heart so climate change became a serious issue to me. So I was happy after all to not extend my ecological footprint.
Not only was it a great experience personally, to cope, learn and grow from those constantly changing circumstances, but also I am still nourished by the memories of all the sparkling personalities I met throughout the conference.
I am taking home very inspiring moments that I am more than grateful for.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible and maybe see you next year again!
Cheers, Sophie!
